Christmas Card: History: Who Sent the First Card

(0)
Have you ever wondered why we send Christmas cards, or why not every country sends cards? When was the first card sent? Who sent the first Christmas Card? How many Christmas cards are sent each year? In this video I'll answer some of these questions as I explore the history of the Christmas card. This session is based on a video (History of the Christmas Card | Who Sent the First Card) with real life explorer and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society Sarah Weldon. LEARNING OBJECTIVES (KEY STAGE 1-4 HISTORY): 1. gain historical perspective by placing their growing knowledge into different contexts, understanding the connections between local, regional, national and international history; between cultural, economic, military, political, religious and social history; and between short- and long-term timescales.
